Overnight success, 8 years in the making.
My partner Jeff Wang and I officially launched our monthly crypto newsletter in 2017. Prior to that, we ran a private WhatsApp group for crypto enthusiasts at Berkeley. Jeff quickly became the de facto leader of WhatsApp group, providing valuable insights whenever for other students. When a former client of mine, Robert Kiyosaki and his Rich Dad team approached me to help teach the Rich Dad audience about Crypto, Jeff was my first recommendation. We launched RocketFuel Crypto and eventually Rich Dad Crypto. We’re currently 8 years into the journey and have thousands of members in over 100 countries.
1. Going Public.
When we started RocketFuel and Rich Dad Crypto, we immediately went upmarket. We set out to build a private, exclusive community for crypto investors, willing to pay $77-$197/mo. This exclusivity was an important part of our community. Unlike most public crypto groups, we weren’t interested in pump and dumps. We had a zero tolerance policy for scammers and rug pullers promoting bullshit projects to our members. We present objective project analysis from a value-investors perspective. As a result, we’ve built an incredible community of smart, supportive crypto investors from across the World.
Now, we want to venture outside of the paywall. We want to offer small, actionable insights like those that our members enjoy.
2. Building a more inclusive community - while excluding scammers.
Our goal in expanding beyond the paywall is to explore whether we can continue to build our community - cultivating the same supportive, curious, and honest culture - at a lower entry price.
